Contemporary Interperative Painting   by   Philip Hone Williams

Process: The process starts with a photo session which lasts for around an hour. The purpose is not to make a formal reference photo of the sitter - instead the intent is to capture an interesting informal moment that translates well as a reference for the oil painting. Next, from one or more of the photos, a very detailed black and white drawing is made to establish the final painting’s composition. And finally, the oil painting is painted on a panel approximately 22" x 17".
